HOSTING POLICY

TIME TO PUBLISH
Publishing a website depends on the duration of time for Program Design Solutions to obtain all information, graphics and code approvals.
If the client performs the work, Program Design Solutions merely publishes the site.
If Program Design Solutions performs the work, the client must approve all elements, before the site goes live.
Exceptions must get approval by both parties.

TERMINOLOGY
Although the general public thinks of the internet as one complete “thing,” the “Internet” or “Web” consists of three basic separate parts, e.g. the web address (URL), web server (Host) and website (web pages). Having one does not mean the existence of the others. Without one, you have no viewable website.
The URL (Uniform Resource Locator) address tells the browser where to find the hosting web server for your website. The web server is where the HTML code resides. The website is the HTML code that creates the pages the browsers display.
Simply put, the URL is a house address. The house is the HTML code. The web server is the land on which the house sits.

APPROVAL PROCESS
Program Design Solutions provides each site with a 5-Stage development environment:

  • Development – Raw code and initial development
  • Alpha – Site Verification
  • Beta – Test
  • Quality Assurance – Client Approval/Pilot
  • Production – Public/Live

If the site experiences a major dysfunction, Program Design Solutions copies the site to a lower level, makes the appropriate changes and replaces the errors with proper code.

GURANTEE
Program Design Solutions will correct all errors made by PDS.
The client must notify Program Design Solutions of errors on their behalf, during the first month of free service support.
Errors are existing elements that are not displaying or functioning properly. New (not previously in existence), altered (enhancing an existing element) or changed (replacing) elements constitutes an update. Support contracts cover these situations or an ad hoc fee based $35-$65 on the nature of the update.

PROMOTIONAL PRICING
At times, Program Design Solutions may offer special pricing or terms to potential and current customers.
If, at anytime, the customer decides to not fulfill the terms of the special offering, the hosting plan will revert to regular pricing and terms.
The customer will be responsible for the balance due, to maintain on-line status and prior to transferring site.

UPDATING SITE
In general, a client with regular updates to text, pictures and links may achieve this at a nominal fee of $49.95 a month.
Program Design Solutions provides quotes for more extensive and elaborate site updates.
For sites with regular massive changes, database driven or content management sites may be more appropriate to suit the needs of the customer.

TRANSFERS
Prior to any transfer, the customer account must be in good standing. A $45 transfer fee will apply.
Many domain sellers and hosting sites do not allow a customer to transfer a site for 90 day, to prohibit price and promotion jumping from one provider to another. Program Design Solutions follows this process.
Domains and hosting plans purchased at a discount or free for a specified term are subject to the same restrictions for the duration of the plan's term. Otherwise, hosting plan will revert to regular price and terms.
If customer decides to transfer site after the 90 day transfer lock and prior to any original promotional host term, price will switch to regular annual price. The customer will be responsible for the balance due, if any, prior to transferring site. Annual hosting fees are non-refundable.

NON-PAYMENT
Domain fees are due one week prior to expiration. If Program Design Solutions does not receive the funds by the day of expiration, the site will "come down" and show as ”Suspended” or ”Scheduled Maintenance,” at midnight of that day. There is a $65 fee to remove the suspension. After 10 days, the site will lock and block public access . There is a $60 fee to unlock the site.
After 30 days, the site will go into stasis and be removed from the web server. There is a $145 fee to reimplement the site.
After 90 days, the account will be in default and will return to the public domain. There is a minimum waiting period of 30-180 days for the site to reappear for purchase again.

EMAIL
Hosting Plans and Packages that come with eMail Accounts are linked to the website. Unless otherwise stated and completely at the discretion of Program Design Solutions, …Mail begins when the site goes live/public.
Any lapse in service will result in loss of …Mail during that period, requiring sender to resend any communications to the client's domain.
eMail can be severed from the website and separate …Mail accounts are available, based on quarterly and annual fees.

CANCELATION
According to Ohio Law, a customer has 72 hours to opt out of a contract. Program Design Solutions Customer Service is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM EST. Technical Support is open 24 hrs/7 days a week.
However, once the customer downloads any templates, documents or other materials, the customer is responsible for the regular full purchase price of items provided to the customer, as part of a Free or Promotional offering.
Downloaded software is non-refundable.
It may take 30-60 days for a refund to appear on credit card statements. If customer paid by cash or check, it may take 14-30 days for check to arrive in the mail.

TERMINATION
Termination is not a cancelation and does not involve a transfer of site to another host provider.
After 90 days, if the customer no longer wants a website hosting plan, For our records, Program Design Solutions requires a signed letter from the authorizing person to shut down the site.
Program Design Solutions Customer Service is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM EST. Technical Support is open 24 hrs/7 days a week.
The same rules as TRANSFER apply.
If customer decides to terminate site prior to any original promotional host term, any special price will switch to regular annual price. The customer will be responsible for the balance due, if any, before the account can be reactivated or transferred. Annual hosting fees are non-refundable.

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES
Your happiness and satisfaction is our ultimate goal. There are always special circumstances that require adjustments to accommodate these needs. Our customer service will work with you to find the best solution possible.

MAINTENANCE
Regular
– Sundays, 11 PM to Monday 7 AM, as needed. We will always send a note, during the prior week, to inform you, if there may be a disruption in your service. If we bounce your site between servers, it may only appear to hang for a few seconds before continuing. This minimizes any effect as we redirect your URL, while we perform server or site maintenance.

Immediate
– If your site has a performance issue, we will immediately correct the issue and implement, as needed, during business hours. When we implement the change, the only effect a viewer may notice is a slight hang in a page response as the new code replaces the old code.

24/7 SUPPORT
Technical support is available all day, every day of the year, except for limited coverage Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve. At these times, a team is on call. Leave a detailed message and someone will get back with you as soon as possible.
